Heavy Diesel Apprenticeship Program

September 9, 2021

Norwood is excited to open applications for our 2022 Apprenticeship Program!
2022 Apprenticeship Norwood Diesel Automotive

We have a number of Service Technician Apprenticeship opportunities across New Zealand in the following locations:

  • North Island – Whangarei, North Shore, Pukekohe, Ngatea, Te Awamutu, Hawera, Hastings, Palmerston North
  • South Island – Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, and Mosgiel

This position will provide you with training and experience to service and repair heavy vehicles such as tractors, balers, implements, excavators, lawn/turf care and any other machines as directed to a high standard while completing your apprenticeship.

A Norwood apprenticeship provides you with up to four years of on-the-job training, equipping you with an NZQA approved New Zealand Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering – Agricultural Equipment (Level 4) qualification. Due to the current ongoing shortage of skilled diesel mechanics in New Zealand and globally, upon completion of your apprenticeship you will be a qualified tradesperson in an industry challenged by skill shortages.

Applicants ideally will have achieved a minimum of NCEA Level 2 and may have completed a pretrade course or have work experience in a related mechanical/trade field. A full driver’s licence is preferred but you must hold a restricted class 1 licence as a minimum.

How to apply

If you have a particular interest in the agricultural industry and are committed to a successful apprenticeship with us, please apply online now!
